Synova’s Sustainability Initiatives

As a company, we recognize our role in contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future. That’s why we’re taking concrete steps to reduce our environmental footprint and support meaningful social initiatives. 

Our efforts focus on improving the energy efficiency of our equipment, integrating renewable energy, reducing waste, and using resources more responsibly. We also support both local and global initiatives, such as Casa Verde in Peru. Equally, we prioritize the well-being of our employees by fostering a safe and supportive work environment, including access to an on-site gym that encourages a healthy lifestyle and supports work-life balance.

Energy-efficient equipment

At Synova, sustainability begins with optimizing the energy efficiency of our machines. Our ultra-thin water jet operates with minimal water consumption, using just 0.4 to 2.4 liters per hour depending on the application. Additionally, our technology requires only a few consumables and wear parts, significantly reducing waste generation.

Environmental Stewardship

We strive to reduce our environmental impact by adopting sustainable practices, including using renewable energy and materials, minimizing waste through reduction and recycling, and fostering a culture of sustainability within our organization.

Clean energy sources

Our headquarters consume approximately 400,000 kW of energy annually. Since 2022, our in-house photovoltaic system, installed on the roofs of the main building and the new production hall, supplies around half of our energy needs with solar power. We complement this with locally sourced hydropower as a secondary energy source.

EV charging stations

At the end of 2022, we installed electric vehicle charging stations on our premises in Duillier, ensuring our employees can power up their electric vehicles conveniently. There are three stations with two chargers each, providing a total of six charging spots. The electricity comes primarily from our own production, thanks to our solar panels.

Renewable resources

Our new production hall and extended main building were constructed using renewable materials like wood. To further support environmental preservation, we have also planted over a dozen trees on-site.

Sustainable waste management

Through efficient recycling programs, we strive to minimize waste and encourage the reuse of materials, such as wooden crates and packaging. To ensure proper waste disposal, dedicated separation stations have been installed throughout our facility.

Through ethical business practices, employee well-being, and meaningful community engagement, we aim to make a meaningful and lasting impact on society.

Our newly equipped gym and inviting leisure area with a terrace are just a few of the ways we invest in our team.

Synova’s Commitment to Education and Community Well-Being

Synova is proud to support Casa Verde, a haven that provides a safe and nurturing home for orphaned girls in Cusco. To foster their personal growth, we contributed to the creation of a new library, offering access to both educational and recreational resources. This initiative was especially meaningful, as books play a crucial role in their journey by providing knowledge, inspiration, and hope. In this supportive setting, the girls receive the care they need to heal, build confidence, and shape a brighter future. Casa Verde also ensures they have access to education and apprenticeship programs, equipping them with essential life skills for independence and long-term success.
